Pros

Fellow clinicians who are supportive and have each other’s backs

Cons

Productivity expectations are unrealistic Very long workdays due to repetitive and time consuming charting Pay per visit resulting in many hours of unpaid work time You are not paid time and a half for overtime but half time — this is legal because you are pay per visit not hourly Corporate makes changes which significantly effect how employees do their jobs, amount of work, productivity points for different assessments but do it without warning and without asking or allowing for the input of those affected Dishonesty and failure of upper management to keep promises made to employees Culture of disrespect toward field clinicians Clinical managers are overloaded and have no ability to support field clinicians Those promoted to management positions receive no training on how to actually manage people at all Employees are hounded to death with a high volume of emails most of which are superfluous and irrelevant Absolutely no work-life balance No discretion pertaining to on call nursing use -nobody wants to work all day then chart all nite then get called out to make non-urgent visits which could have waited then see a full day of patients the next day Full time Monday through Friday clinicians do not want to also work weekends - especially when the extra pay/incentive is so low Corporate policies made by those not qualified to touch a patient have made it difficult in many cases to provide good patient care

Pros

- I love being able to make my own schedule and see patients on my own time. - I love the care center hospice team that I work with. My DOO (Director of Operations) is very kind, a team player, and encourages the team to be their best. - Insurance benefits are also a plus (Blue Cross/Blue Sheild).

Cons

- I don't enjoy having to drive around and to far distances to see patients. Also, don't enjoy when patients and family members cancel visits because I won't get paid unless I make the visit. - Upper management doesn't care about the well-being of the local care center employees. Upper management puts to much stress on the DOO for stats and productivity quotas. - Upper management is cheap and doesn't contribute money to celebrate their employees like with a Christmas party (local care centers have to bring pot-luck style food and throw their own Christmas parties).
