Pros

The amazing caring people/team that worked so hard every day to make a difference in a patient and families lives. We also had one of the “good ones” supervisor that didn’t fit their “mold”because she had our backs not theirs. They want puppets. Yes people. So, if you want to climb the ladder and know how to play the game you will do well. Good luck but you will lose your soul while doing it…. It’s too bad because if they just stopped micromanaging everyone we have brains and know how best to care for patients better than you do…. Sorry, but it’s the truth.

Cons

The bigger Amedisys became you would think that they would take care of their employees but unfortunately they only take care of themselves at the top! Greed and money and making their investors happy is top priority. So, they would take away benefits from their employees instead of rewarding them. It’s truly shameful!

Pros

- I love being able to make my own schedule and see patients on my own time. - I love the care center hospice team that I work with. My DOO (Director of Operations) is very kind, a team player, and encourages the team to be their best. - Insurance benefits are also a plus (Blue Cross/Blue Sheild).

Cons

- I don't enjoy having to drive around and to far distances to see patients. Also, don't enjoy when patients and family members cancel visits because I won't get paid unless I make the visit. - Upper management doesn't care about the well-being of the local care center employees. Upper management puts to much stress on the DOO for stats and productivity quotas. - Upper management is cheap and doesn't contribute money to celebrate their employees like with a Christmas party (local care centers have to bring pot-luck style food and throw their own Christmas parties).
