Seasonal Propane Delivery Driver - Bulk Route Delivery Driver AmeriGas Employee Review

Pros

An adventurous way to spend the winter months! If you have a CDL B license and HazMat, they'll provide training and ride-alongs to get you up to speed. Then you're on your own filing residential and commercial tanks and doing leak checks. The overtime hours, depending on the route, can be substantial and add a tidy sum to the paycheck. They can also be very physically draining. The trucks vary from old operable relics to nice new ones. As a new driver, you can guess which one you'll start with. Management is fair in dealing with employees, they provide the basic equipment (gloves, coveralls, safety glasses) and overall camaraderie is good.

Cons

An accident or property damage of any sort, regardless of whose fault it is or how trivial it may seem, will most likely land you in hot water. Being on call 24/7 for a week at a time goes with the territory. Delivering motor fuel and ACE cylinders is physically exhausting and may lead to repetitive motion injuries. Truck and pump noise may lead to hearing loss.

Pros

As of now the office is working hybrid. The work is steady and continuous. Our busy season is the winter, major overtime.

Cons

Monotonous doing the same thing. The work will turn to in office fulltime. Can become stressful in peek season.
