Pros
ACC has beautiful properties that are of decent quality compared to a lot of other properties. There are a lot of great selling points and sometimes the product really does "sell itself". This makes it easy for employees to have pride in the company. There are a lot of really great, genuinely good people who work for ACC. The day-to-day atmosphere at work was pleasant and enjoyable. Lots of opportunities for life lessons and hard work. But if that's what you're looking for, you should do it elsewhere where you can at least earn a decent salary.
Cons
The nepotism is out of control. Promotions are almost never based on merit. It is unlikely that you will move up unless you have built a personal relationship with someone higher up who can help you. I have seen a lot of special treatment between married (and unmarried) couples who both work for the company. Compensation and benefits are abysmal. Salary for a full-time leasing manager is just above the poverty line. Lots of late nights, two weeks of 15-hour days in the summer (every year) with NO OVERTIME COMPENSATION. For a company that constantly boasts about making so much money every year, you would think employees would benefit. Not the case. Employees at the property level are seen as just a money-making number. Voiced opinions and complaints are never taken seriously.
