Pros

Paid - Vacations, Sick Time / Benefits / 401K Professional Employees who know how to act professional. When there is a reason to "party" or if they have extra money to treat their top employees - AMEX goes all out.

Cons

A lot of cliques. If you plan to move up, identify the "right" cliques and dont stay in one job too long - move around! Network, network, network! If layoff is a factor, dont relocate unless you need a way to get back home and the new location is located near your hometown. If you are relocating, chances are in 6 months your job will be shipped off shore and youll be layed off anyway.

Pros

They have fantastic pay for the position you're in, and they teach you interesting and engaging utility of modern technology mixed with legacy fundamentals. I've learned quite a bit while AmEx while getting paid more than fairly - I'd recommend a stretch here to whomever may be reading this!

Cons

The Company is huge, and at times it may take more than a little time to get recognized for your abilities and the growth you've had. There's a reason there is a "only way up is out" reputation exists for some enterprise companies...
