Pros
The best thing about working for Amex in IT is the benefits package, all the usual thing and then access to an incredible array of extras. My favorites were the access to coaches, the peer reward program and the 5+ training days.
Cons
IT is such a dinosaur. There is very little ability to be creative, the hours are long and the culture is just toxic with gossip and politics running the organization. I was burnt out within three months and while I managed to stick it out for three years, the week after I left I felt like a huge weight was off my shoulders.
