Pros

There are some great leaders, great teams, good benefits, lots to learn, and can be exciting place to work.

Cons

Be forewarned, do your homework. 1. Regardless of the company, ask about the leader's actual management style and vision, as well as, that of senior leadership, 2. Ask for a clear picture of the company's path to greater and sustained sales growth (nationally & internationally). Look at the "value" partners (present and near-term). Read recent business and financial reports to get a full understanding. 3. Since 2013, American Express has had significant layoffs with many jobs being shipped offshore. 4. Recently updated physical work environment (Bluebox) is comprised of long open tables with loud background noise. It may not be to your liking. Make sure you check this in advance.

Pros

They have fantastic pay for the position you're in, and they teach you interesting and engaging utility of modern technology mixed with legacy fundamentals. I've learned quite a bit while AmEx while getting paid more than fairly - I'd recommend a stretch here to whomever may be reading this!

Cons

The Company is huge, and at times it may take more than a little time to get recognized for your abilities and the growth you've had. There's a reason there is a "only way up is out" reputation exists for some enterprise companies...
