Pros

-DE&I is a priority for the company -Good work/life balance -Great benefits if you're starting a family/growing your family (fertility treatments, mat/pat leave, etc.) -Hybrid: required to be in office 3 days -Colleague culture is strong, feel mostly safe and supported

Cons

-Competitive salary compensation compared to other finance/banking and tech industries in NYC -Competitive and difficult to get promoted to Director-level -Lack of people management opportunities until Director-level -Not all Directors are good people managers, partially due to it being their first time -Politics with any large company -Behind on technology and it takes too long to make decisions and implement

Pros

They have fantastic pay for the position you're in, and they teach you interesting and engaging utility of modern technology mixed with legacy fundamentals. I've learned quite a bit while AmEx while getting paid more than fairly - I'd recommend a stretch here to whomever may be reading this!

Cons

The Company is huge, and at times it may take more than a little time to get recognized for your abilities and the growth you've had. There's a reason there is a "only way up is out" reputation exists for some enterprise companies...
