CRG (ASC internal float pool) - Registered Nurse, BSN American Senior Communities Employee Review

Pros

Working in the ASC float pool pays well. They do take into consideration your preferences, at least as an RN. I'm not sure about other positions.

Cons

As a float you are required to work any shift, every other weekend, at any facility within 40 miles of your home address. ASC, like many LTC organizations, is in the business of making money. Therefore you will be pushed to your limit on the floor. They save money by working with the least hourly labor as humanly possible. That will leave you exhausted, mentally and physically. It also leaves the residents with less than great care.

Pros

The coworkers are amazing and make the work environment enjoyable. The residents are wonderful to work with and are one of the best parts of the job. Management does a great job planning fun parties and activities, and there is usually a lot of staff involvement, which helps create a positive and engaging atmosphere.

Cons

Management can be somewhat inconsistent. Employees are often recognized for their work, but there are times when micromanagement creates unnecessary stress. Pay is below what many similar positions offer, and communication between management and staff could be improved. Greater consistency and clearer communication would help employee morale and retention.
