Their MO seems to be to try to win bids, scramble to hire contractors, support them as minimally as possible, then get them out of the company before their ESOP kicks in. About the ESOP - if you leave before five years are up, all the money in your ESOP rolls back to the remaining employees, giving the long-time overhead employees a really good motivation to get you out of there, since their share value will go up when you leave.
