Pros
Dependent upon department/school, there is a great work life balance and incredibly support management & leaders in place. The benefits are competitive, although compensation varies across campus. There is room for career advancement. Overall, I was happy with my experience working at AU (with the exception of other units on campus outside of my own).
Cons
HR is incredibly inefficient and unhelpful. Five years ago there were HR staff who knew what they were doing and how to help, but as of now working with HR is an absolute nightmare - from posting positions to completing internal paperwork, nothing is ever simple and the process takes 2x longer than necessary with 5x extra hoops to jump through. The financial systems are outdated which can make performing your job harder - none of the systems communicate well with one another and require shadow tracking.
