Business Outlook
Pros
The Pay is good for the Area, management has incentive programs, and many activities such as barbeque on the Fourth of July. Great for someone that wants to come in, do their job, and go home.
Cons
No room for advancement, intense heat in the summer, and hours get cut in the winter. You hear of people who started as a builder and got to the front office in a year but it never happens for you. This is a job for a follower, not a leader.
American Woodmark Response

Thank you for your review. We have a long history of promoting from within as that is a priority at American Woodmark. We recommend speaking with your supervisor and local Human Resources representative to discuss your desire to advance and then work together to come up with a plan to prepare you for advancement; such as utilizing our generous education benefit to pursue a college or vocational education to enhance your growth opportunities.
Direct manager cares and has goals in place to help improve the department. The core team is made up of great people that work well together.
Cons
Seems like the plant director is actively and intentionally making the entire plant worse. Zero accountability for disrespecting hourly workers even when it's brought to management's attention. Supervisors have completely checked out and refuse to provide the help needed for their people to succeed. Nonexistent advancement opportunities unless you go to church with or are friends with certain managers. Cliquey front office and improper use of employee information. Little to no diversity in management roles. There is a single manager that's a POC and he's their most recent hire.
