Poor operational control and management - Captain Ameriflight Employee Review

Pros

Good pay. Multi turbine. The end.

Cons

Long work days, with “short breaks”(playing minimum rest hours as a normal operation) at outstations. Extremely poor organizational skills. Operations lacks general aviation experience. Spending asinine amounts of money and people’s time for no reason. No appreciation or even so much as pat on the back for getting them out of a tough spot. You’re going to be a number here, not a person. Aging equipment with no upgrade or avionics in sight. Stretching these planes to the very max operational limit with no reserves then wondering why they are hemmeraging money when they all break down.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We’re glad to see that you have found the pay and flight time at Ameriflight is worthwhile. Our hope is that all of our employees feel appreciated and valued at our company. We are currently working on ways to make that more apparent across the board. While our aircraft are not brand new, our maintenance and leadership teams do an excellent job of taking care of each one. Safety is our #1 priority and pilots are never asked to fly planes they do not deem safe themselves. We understand that the shortage of pilots can sometimes cause a busier schedule. But rest assured, our Recruiting team is working hard to fill our open pilot positions. As a current employee, we hope you notice those changes soon and find them to be helpful. As always, if you have any suggestions, don’t hesitate to send them our way! communications@ameriflight.com

Pros

The director is a great guy and is an advocate for the specialists. It was a relatively easy job. Good job for somebody right out of college.

Cons

No company culture. Old and Cold atmosphere. Horrible communication, outdated systems. “This is how we’ve always done it” attitude. Turnover rate through the roof in IT and MX, so few things can ever be completed or done correctly. Very old aircraft leading to MX problems and cancellations. Commissions are way below average and the market is very volatile. Do not expect to make 80-100k, more like 50k after taxes. No room for growth. Insurance is bad.
