No work-life balance. Also forget having kids. When you work from home (which they discriminate against you for) you are not allowed to have your children home with you. There is a policy against being primary caregiver while a remote employee. But they wont pay you enough to compensate for the childcare now needed. I addressed this concern with my boss and they said, "well I didn't start working until my kids were 3, so I don't see your problem." That was also way back when people could afford one income household and mothers could just stay home. Ridiculous to even say that to me in this world today. Made up job titles to lower pay but demand larger "scope of work." Yet, they REFUSE to provide you with laid out Duties and Expectations for your role--even when you continuously ask for it. EXTREMELY underpaid. I filled out my salary info on glassdoor (based on my years of experience, years with company and job title) and it was flagged as spam for being "well or excessively below the market average." Even if you meet your required "goals" for your review period they refuse to give you a raise over the 3-5% cost of living increase. I had a meeting with my supervisor about this and they didn't even try to talk to anyone about it. They said, "well we're all in the lower pay bracket." So basically, that's how it is, deal with it. They create a culture of impersonal relationships and don't allow any opportunities for growth or promotion. I have asked several times for support in how/where to look for promotional opportunites. I've been told "look at this website" or "go to this resource." No one actually wants to help you with a professional growth plan. They don't care at all. Probably because they don't want to pay you more. They Micromanage EVERYTHING you do. Like, everything. I've been doing BAU work for 5 years and now I suddenly need a "higher level employee" in my department (whom I've rarely had contact with over this work) to look over my work before it is submitted or finalized. Computers are never reliable and always have tech issues due to extreme, unnecessary security measures. The IT team is not proficient in Macbooks so you will spend 2-3 days missing out on work because you cant access your computer, but you have to be the one to reach out CONSTANTLY to get assistance. They will yell at you for not getting work done, but do nothing about the tech issues that cause it. I have to work from my personal computer and email things to myself on my work computer in order to get things done on time. ZERO respect for time off. I rarely take PTO but I have yet to take it and actually be left alone. There is always something that needs done and can't be done without me, even if I'm on PTO. My boss actually asked me one time if my PTO was "hard PTO" or if I could join a meeting while I was out. Unacceptable.
