I joined Amesite as one of the first software engineers on team. Having graduated in the top of my class, earning praise from professors and receiving multiple job offers, I had a lot of options right out of college. I decided to join Amesite based on mission, culture, and growth potential. When I accepted my job offer, our CEO Ann Marie told me that I was going to grow so much during my time at Amesite – this could not have been truer. From my first day at Amesite, I was given important responsibilities and opportunities to use my knowledge and expertise to solve impactful problems. With Ann Marie's support and coaching, I was able to grow fast. I worked closely with Ann Marie as a co-architect, co-designer, co-product owner and a software engineer. I built and led software executions, guided other technical professionals, worked with partners, and helped to shape and uphold the culture and mission of Amesite. Having worked directly with Ann Marie for these past few years, her mentorship, support, and commitment have been instrumental in my professional growth. Ann Marie has demonstrated her commitment and support of the team even during the most challenging executions. At Amesite, I have received much recognition for my accomplishments. Since being hired as a software engineer, I have been promoted four times – always early. Whenever I have worked to out-perform my current role, I have received a promotion and a new role to match my responsibilities. Our CEO, Ann Marie, believes in growing and promoting people. She is always quick to coach, mentor, and point out where you're excelling. She highlights and respects the skills of each individual team member – and calls on all for input. Having been here since the very early days of Amesite, I am very proud of the culture we've built, because it is a culture that allows us to go fast, execute with excellence, and enjoy our personal lives outside of work. We as a team, led by our CEO, we work hard to support each other. We coach, mentor and lead by example. We encourage each other to take wellness breaks and PTO. Our CEO, Ann Marie, models the genuine care and empathy we all adopt.
Cons
Amesite is not a good fit for professionals who prefer to be individual contributors or who seek comfort in a role. High growth environments are never comfortable – but they enable the kind of fast paced growth that those hungry for responsibility and excellence will thrive in.
