Pros

They will never fire you, regardless of how lazy or unproductive you are

Cons

The company is incapable of making decisions. Layers and layers of corporate "governance" - spinning in circles. There is massive inequity throughout. The C-suite execs are wholly incapable of leading. I wouldn't put them in charge of organizing a kids birthday party, let alone a multibillion dollar biopharma organization. The pipeline is shockingly bad. Essentially nothing in ph2/3. Company keeps making the worst ever decisions on business development. This place takes "risk averse" to a whole new level. A culture of "keep your head down, and say nothing". Many people are silent in meetings, never contribute a single thing. Long term incentives are approximately 40% of what other large companies offer. At Amgen, it's actually a "long term DISincentive".... "LTD grant".

Pros

Work from home flexibility and the summer and winter shutdown periods are a nice benefit. Good health insurance.

Cons

Management style can be controlling and micromanaging with expectations that shift without clear communication. Employees are held to high standards but not always given the support or clarity needed to meet them. Performance concerns are documented quickly without full context being considered. Culture does not match the company’s public image.
