If you need a recommendation letter do not go to the chemistry management, they're not reliable and will lie about you if it makes management look better. Go straight to the main lab manager, that office is more likely to tell the truth about your work. Watch your back and cover your bases even if you think you have friends at work. It is a toxic work environment. Racism and derogatory terms are a problem.
