Pros

Pay is competitive, I guess.

Cons

Joining Amyris has been the biggest regret of my career. They love to over-work their employees so late nights, long weekends, and no work-life balance will be the motif of your journey at Amyris. Teams are ridiculously lean so be expected to work at least a 5 person job. They like to say everyone needs to be 'scrappy,' 'wear multiple different hats,' and 'be flexible' when in reality, these are just excuses and filler phrases used to mask how they are unsustainably burning out their employees. Additionally, internal structure with project management and cross-functional workflow is non-existent, which leads to low-quality execution of projects and translates to a very poor external brand experience. Be expected to be pinged with laughable last-minute requests as cross-functional teams expect you to just drop everything you're trying to juggle and attend to their request, which is always void of any strategy or experienced point of view. For senior level roles on the CPG brands, Amyris has a knack for hiring people who have ZERO industry experience so you will be surrounded by many incompetent colleagues who will be the crux of so many of your mental and emotional frustrations.
