some of the people were great, my direct manager was great I guess I got lucky by having one of the few that actually cared.
Cons
Many managers are not equipped to actually lead and be supportive. Andersen completely lost their way through the pandemic by laying off some of their best people to "weather the storm" and then bringing some of them back and treating them like garbage, not humans. They laid off all their contractors which made up a large population of IT and then left the rest of us to scramble. Then they furloughed all employees, then laid of 10% of full time employees. They then snuck some of their contractors back in because they knew they "messed up" and lied to the others about how they will make sure to take care of their full timers first. The people are worked to death and not supported and the on-call support is an absolute nightmare. I know some people that have worked 30+ days straight yet told they are aren't approved for a promotion. HR refers you to a manager for help and managers refer you to HR so you get the run around. There is no phycological safety because when people try to speak up and voice concerns or even FACTS, they are told to be quiet. I know people that still work there that had to prove themselves for several years without getting one single promotion. Andersen claims to be all for diversity, equity, inclusion yet I don't see that represented well in IT management and leadership or even how they value their people and lack of creating diverse teams. I know people who have bravely come to management to ask for support and resources and got nothing, no help. Either Andersen is uneducated or they simply don't care. Both are bad.
