Pros

No dress code - you can wear whatever you like because there's no rules here. And for the salary they pay, they really can't expect you to buy any new clothes for this job.

Cons

Bad compensation - Unfair salary. No compensation for extra hours work/travel. Super low reimbursement limits for travel expenses. Quarterly bonus at president's discretion, not based on your performance review. The Chinese mentality - Managers expect you to prove your value by working long hour while getting paid the minimum. They definitely value quantity not quality. While managers do not know how to train or give directions to employees, they expect employees to accomplish "mission impossible" without caring how. Closed communication - Management are old school style. They usually cannot accept any constructive criticism and do not appreciate open communications. Dismal work environment - Many political issues even the company is so small. There are often employees screaming in foreign languages to either customers on the phone or to each other in the conference rooms. The energy is very negative and employees like to divide themselves into different groups.

Pros

When I was first contacted by AOPEN I was skeptical based on Glassdoor reviews. As the interview progressed I got more excited about the projects and the team. Management never denied the bad reviews, instead they invited me to look at the dates, and to be part of the change, which I gladly accepted Few months in, and I’m excited about the projects, the collaboration among the local and global teams, and the direction that the organization is going. It is inspiring to work with people that you can learn from, and are receptive for what you have to offer. So far, most of the people I have been working are innovative, smart, and ambitious, yet humble, collaborative and fun. Due to its smaller size, processes and development are faster and more efficient than larger organizations. Executive and management welcome new processes and projects that make sense. Another major plus, personally, is that AOPEN is a result-driven organization, which enables us to be strategic and focused on the right track. Another thing I appreciate about this company, and honestly one of the reasons I’m here, is its thoughtful, inspiring and reasonable leadership.

Cons

- Medical benefits are ok - No stock options - Work pace can get chaotic at times - Once a week work from home culture could increase efficiency and employee morale (not sure if its an option)
