Pros
This is not one of those short, fluff reviews that looks like it is being thrown up there to pad the stats. - Top Company to Work For in Houston - 2016, and 2017 - based on a purchased survey that management pushes on you - Forbes "Most Respected Company Worldwide" in 2017 - but didn't make the list for Houston - Compressed work schedule - Half Day Fridays to make up for 10-12 hour Monday-Thursday if you're in a department that enforces the shift work. - Overall good benefits, although the compensation package has been being reduced year after year.
Cons
Everyone mentions the Galleria-area location, the construction on 290-610-59, the 1980's buildings with the narrow parking garage, and the empty land for a new building. IT has evolved from being innovation-driven to vendor-driven. Technology decisions are based on who has the best vendor perks. Good managers have been fired for challenging the process of the digital transformation. People were told that they were going to be reassigned, only to find out that they were given 30-day notice of termination instead. People were fired for ethics violations while others received major sporting event tickets from vendors. These practices go on in many companies. However, it's sad to see a company throw away millions of dollars to the vendor that treats the executives the best.
