Pros
A good place to start a career with great benefits. They will train you well, but you will need to jump to another company to get paid a base salary on par for the industry.
Cons
Upper management moved from a conservative company to a shoot first company when it came to making acquisitions which lead to them divesting them only a few years later at major losses. Middle management frequently broke their promises and swept problems under the rug instead of solving them. Unfortunately, HR believes it is too difficult to get rid of problem employees so they hang on to them which leaves the good employees frustrated. Politics frequently played a role in hirings and promotions. It wasn't unusual to hear about recent college graduates having a path carved out for them from the beginning only to find out their dad played golf with someone important at Apache. This only discouraged the veteran employees who knew they would always be stuck in their current position.
