On behalf of Apex UK I am happy to hear that you felt working here afforded you the unique opportunity to gain good exposure to education and experience working with a broad range of investment strategies. Gaining practical knowledge and a true understanding of the fund industry as a whole is something we are proud to offer Fund Accountants when they join us here as we always aim to support staff in the development of their own personal knowledge and future career.
The issues experienced with the plumbing in the main building during your tenure are unfortunate. The office manager at Apex is in constant liaison with the Building Management team who are responsible for the upkeep of the premises and we can happily confirm that the problem has been resolved and the building management are looking in to completely replacing the pumps and installing a brand new plumbing system to ensure this issue does not occur again.
All new staff at Apex UK are appointed a peer Fund Accountant whom they shadow during their first few weeks in order to receive initial training and gain a practical understanding of the daily duties required of them, whilst a Senior Fund Accountant is also appointed to actively supervise this training. We appreciate that the fund accounting environment can be fast paced and that it can sometimes feel that there is an overwhelming amount to learn when starting in a new position; however we strongly believe that hands-on training sets new fund accountants up with the best possible chance of succeeding in the role. Through learning alongside peers, new starters can establish a true understanding of how the systems and processes work at Apex and we’ve experienced overwhelming success using this method to date.
The management team at Apex UK does truly care about each one of its employees – a company is only as good as the people working there and so each member of staff is an asset to us. It is regrettable that in this instance this message was not delivered effectively and that is something we will ensure is better communicated in future.
Apex always looks to provide the best possible opportunities to its staff with regards to learning and development and look to reward them based on their performance and success at the company.
