Pros
I worked here for over eight years and it gave me great experience and exposure to a wide range of systems. We didn't have system specialists, I had the opportunity to learn and develop across all areas of our infrastructure. We tried always to have the latest technology solutions, both cloud and on-premise are in use which gives each team member the opportunity to pick-up new skills and gain hands on experience. There is great IT leadership in place with managers providing support and encouragement to allow for growth within roles. I was allowed flexitime when I needed it, I was never micromanaged and trusted to get my job done which I appreciated and feel I repaid.
Cons
Working on a small team, for a small expanding company can mean a little extra commitment and longer hours, but this did get recognised and I always felt appreciated. Also on a small team it can be frustrating if colleagues come in and don't share our ethos and don't pull their weight, at which point decisions needed to be taken which was never pleasant but unfortunately necessary and unavoidable.
