Aplicor was a troubled company that was trying to re-invent themselves. Over a 4 month period, they hired a whole new management team and a lot of very talented senior people. Unfortunately, research showed that they didn't have a viable product in a very competitive space. So they laid almost everyone off. Too bad - with a better product this would have been a great place to work.
