Pros
We are located in the mountains of NC so we have a beautiful campus. Boone is a rural area so you are not around all of the fast paces of a larger metropolitan area. Faculty and staff are friendly and cordial to one another.
Cons
Lately, in education, or at least our department, there is a high attrition rate. It would be nice to see more efforts and flexibility in supporting opportunities for employees to be able to work from home. There is an issue of equitability in the pay structure for positions. An Associate Director in one department could have a $7-10,000 difference.
