Pros
- Depending on your org this will be different. IS&T (specifically the helpline branch and it's offshoots) is the org I will be reviewing. But doesn't represent the company as a whole. With that said, here are some Pros. - Discounts on products, although this is all of Apple. - I've met some good friends here
Cons
Remember this is org specific, other orgs may give you a better experience. - This team is managed by former retail store managers who are non technical. Essentially meaning they are there to just watch over your shoulder constantly. There is no value add. - Going back to the former Retail aspect. Retail has a very "fake" culture. This team has adopted this because leadership. - Nepotism runs rampant here. If you don't know someone you will not get ahead, Plain and simple. People get advanced with no technical skills yet they just happen to have a connection. -Lack of any of kind of empathy or people skills with some managers. You could literally be dying and they'd ask if you could come in to work. Zero awareness. - Raises are not a guarantee here (although that can be said in other orgs. But it's especially true here) -Dealing with a lot of mental health sufferers. I've never seen a job cause so much depression and anxiety for people. Most people put on fake smiles but a lot of them want out. Some saying transferring to the org was the biggest career move mistake they've made. - I don't think Apple on your resume carries as much weight anymore. - Although you are answering calls, Hybrid onsite is required. 3 times a week - Lack of true opportunity or development. You can ask for chances to learn from other teams but managers will always say it's on you, even though you don't get any time to do so. (Unless you're a nepotism hire that is). - Very bad work-life balance, good luck getting PTO approved.
