Mixed Bag - Software Developer Applied Medical Employee Review

Many managers aren't experienced in the areas of the people they manage. People seem to get promoted or hired based on favoritism, being related, or friends with current employee or manager. A lot of young people right out of college. A good place to get started and move on. Doesn't seem like a good long term career. Seems like managers have been hiring just to hire and are not as scrutinizing of candidates as they should be. People get hired in senior roles that are clearly not senior in experience or skill level. Pay is lower than industry standard. Seems like people are rewarded based on how well the boss likes them rather than how hard they work. Seeing slackers moving up the ladder is very discouraging.
