Pros

People are friendly and there is a strong sense of camaraderie. Someone who is tyrannical or interested in taking all the credit or bullying doesn't last long if they even get in the door. The company invests in the career development of its team members. As the company grows, the opportunity grows. Your next position may not even exist yet. If someone proves their ability, they are often given responsibility sooner than they might in another organization. Voices and opinions are valued from day one, not just when you've achieved a certain title. People are genuinely ethical and concerned with patient outcomes and improving healthcare and doing the right thing. By having so much of the supply chain in-house (vertical integration), there is always something new to learn about.

Cons

Fast growth comes with growing pains. Can be challenging to continuously adapt to new departments, new procedures, and new team members. Lower pay is not an unfounded complaint, but is often related to a philosophy of providing increased salary as reward for a job well done instead of incentive to do the job well. Systems to communicate and collaborate could be better. It often feels like we're using technology from 5-10 years ago.
