Pros

I moved to Aptive after ~8 months at another pest control company because they offered plenty of overtime, good benefits, and a nice sign-on bonus.

Cons

It took me a few months to realize just how poorly-trained my coworkers were. I am not exaggerating when I say that literally none of them understood how any of the products worked or how to use them properly. The success rate of our treatments was absolutely abysmal. The service pros did their genuine best (for the most part), but the operations trainer in the Seattle region had basically zero hands-on experience in pest control. Not only were many important concepts not taught, they even spread false information about products and treatments! The summer was miserable with constant call-backs, reservices, high turnover rate, and many many unhappy customers. I have never been yelled at more in my life. The sales people made so many empty promises to trick families into a year contract. This problem is bigger than just quality of service. Their technicians killed beloved family pets on 2 occasions *that I am aware of*. To clarify, I place most of the blame for this on management. The service pros worked hard but it was a constant battle against the failures of Aptive to adequately train their employees. Corporate was constantly enacting policies that we universally hated and making promises that they refused to follow through. If you want to make a bunch of overtime money over the summer and don't give a crap, go ahead and work at Aptive. If you want to be a long-term professional, avoid this disaster at all costs.

Pros

Pay and overtime is great, management is decent, you run your own show- upsell, identify pest problems, know your chemicals, different methods, request inventory products

Cons

It's a lot of hours in summer. You will hate spiderwebs. I enjoy seeing many beautiful gardens and getting to know the local wasps, birds, and lizards- but it's not for everyone. Don't trust everything management says, and bring up issues early and with tact.
