Pros

If you have absolutely no skills, Aptive will “train” and hire you for a decent entry-level rate with mandatory overtime, so decent money immediately, ** WITH MANY CAVEATS **

Cons

Chemicals everywhere, No seal between the back of the truck and the front (as well other issues with the truck in my first few weeks.) They expect about 16-20 stops per day per technician. They tell you in one breath to take your time to service each home (min 20 mins), but you also have to complete all of your stops before clocking out. Which is impossible without skipping major parts of service, or illegally mixing chemicals (which I saw both happen while training) They have a bad AI dashcam watch and yell at you all day to micromanage your driving, which really is just the cherry on top of an 11-hour chemical bath while flying from house to house in the summer heat. You work, come home and sleep, then repeat. Good luck actually taking a lunch and making your quota. Good luck with any resemblance of work-life balance if you're actually hitting your numbers. Don't take this job unless you are desperate and have exhausted every other option. If you do, take the time to make sure you are safe from the chemicals they give you, and also study the safety of the chemicals outside the study material they give you. These are just a few things. I could go on for another hour. Good luck and be extremely careful!

Pros

Stepped Training & Weekly Classes: Management is great about not overwhelming you. We learn new technology one step at a time, and we have weekly team classes to make sure everyone has the information "down pat" before moving on. Veteran Mentorship: This company truly values experience. They lean on veteran technicians to walk new employees through every step of the process so they aren't left alone on a route until they are 100% comfortable. Customer Loyalty: Our "Reduced Risk" approach (using botanical-based pyrethrins and EPA-approved treatments) is high-quality. I’ve seen that even when customers leave for other options, they almost always come running back once they realize the value of our service. Collaborative Bonus Culture: We have monthly bonuses, and we actually help each other hit them. In our meetings, if one tech finds a better way to hit a goal, they share it so the whole "family" can maximize their earnings. Strong Communication: You are never on an island. There is constant contact and support between co-workers, supervisors, and manageme

Cons

Adapting to Change: The industry moves fast and the technology is always evolving. It takes a professional mindset to stay on top of the weekly classes and new mobile systems. Physical Energy: This is a high-energy field role. It requires daily stamina and a strong work ethic to manage the routes effectively and keep up with the pace.
