Work with incredible people who you will learn from every day, using your brain in ways which you normally wouldn't have to. Genuinely fantastic solutions and designs at times, and the work is frequently very interesting.
Cons
It's always a challenge, getting to a point where you're comfortable with the software takes a long time and then there will always be too much to do for any given day. Fortunately the team will always try to help get everyone through in high spirits.

I think this is a very fair and balanced review. Thank you for taking the time to write it.
Very friendly company - all colleagues, managers and directors are approachable and helpful. Everyone is treated with respect. Small enough for everyone to know each other and for the company to be nimble.
Talented staff - the complex nature of the Aquarium application means that we need, and recruit and retain talented staff. If you are prepared to work hard, learn lots of new skills and dive in to tackle complex problems then you will love Aquarium. If you aren't then it's probably not the company for you.
Interesting work - always plenty of challenging problems to solve. Lots of hands on technical work to get involved with. It's never dull.
Growth - Aquarium has some ambitious growth targets and is on the way to achieving them. Lovely new offices in Altrincham.
Cons
Not many cons really. Things have become a lot more professional since I've worked at Aquarium. Historically there were less processes, standards and tooling - but there have been big improvements over the past couple of years.
There is always something interesting to do at Aquarium. I have been here for 14 years and there is something new to do today, just like there was yesterday. You need a good brain to work here - that is probably the most noticeable characteristic about the people here - you don't have to have any particular qualifications, you just need to be bright and ready to work. That also means that you don't get stuck in a rut, you can go from developer to tester or DBA or project manager, there is good support from project teams and senior management, there are travel opportunities (before Covid anyway, and hopefully again after it) and an overall feeling that the company is succeeding. I have recommended Aquarium to several friends and family members and they are happily employed here too.
Cons
I can't really think of any. You have to work overtime occasionally, but who doesn't?

Thank you for your great review. Seeing the latest recruits take off as successfully as they have during Covid & WFH, I have a sneaky suspicion that it won't impact people's ability to grow and develop!
