Pros

They have a fair number of openings with some good companies. Lots of remote options.

Cons

If you get a crummy engagement manager, you're out of luck. I mentioned some trouble I was having with mine to my supervisor at the job, and they said that they'd heard several similar complaints about the same engagement manager, and it seemed like a toxic relationship. I got laid off during the tech cull of 2023. I contacted people at Aquent about other open positions, and they weren't helpful. When I took the position, I was told that as an Aquent employee, they'd help me find work if this gig ended. Nope. That was not the case. There were several times when I applied for a job and didn't hear a single thing back. I didn't get the feeling that I was an employee at all. I felt I was getting treated like any other random person who applied for a job. I thought the pay was okay until I connected with another agency and got a *significantly* higher rate for a very similar job. They offer Cigna healthcare. Better than nothing if you can find doctors who accept it.

Pros

Some nice intelligent educated coworkers

Cons

Lack of transperancy, job placement wages stagnant for over 5 years with no raise, after finishing multiple contracts and bringing them thousands of dollars with my labor, no follow up on new positions. Finally contacted me about one position I would be perfect for then ghosted me. Blatant ageism using words like "junior" or "great position for recent grad". Had one horrific experience with them where they reached out to me to work on a team that loved me/loved my work - when I inquired if there was any flexibility in the pay, was suddenly told I wasn't qualified. Then I see the same listing reposted as "junior" and great for a recent grad.
