Pros

Decent employee benefits, health, vision, dental.

Cons

Told management I was having trouble focusing one week (what I now know to be a symptom of depression which I have taken medication for off and on over the course of my adult life) they brushed this aside and told me everyone deals with that and I need to just basically suck it up. I had 99.9% perfect attendance over 2 and a half years, worked off the clock when asked to, covered shifts for other absent employees, helped out whenever asked even folks outside of our department or at an entirely different account, and was still treated like a delinquent employee. Never did anything ethically or morally wrong or against company policy. I have made mistakes, yes, but I am only human. Deliberately kept out of the loop on goings-ons of my department and then this was held against me. There was an individual who had allegations of sexual misconduct brought up against them who was given more consideration than me (politely asked to resign whereas I was terminated). Worked under borderline abusive treatment from management (had multiple individuals come forward expressing concern on my behalf for the way I was being spoken to.) Was too afraid to report out of fear of making my life even more difficult. Then HR turned on me and told me they had received no such complaints (bald-faced lie). Very poor communication all around. Inconsistent and double standards in disciplinary actions. I would be written up for things I'd witnessed others do. I would be blamed for mistakes of the department even when it was due to things beyond my control.

Pros

Working as a Lead Barista has been a rewarding experience that has helped me grow both professionally and personally. The role has strengthened my leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills while allowing me to mentor and support team members. I enjoy creating positive customer experiences, managing daily operations, and ensuring high standards of quality and service. The fast-paced environment has taught me how to multitask effectively, stay organized, and work under pressure. This position has also provided valuable experience in training staff, inventory management, and team collaboration. Overall, being a Lead Barista has been an excellent opportunity to develop skills that are transferable to leadership and project management roles.

Cons

While being a Lead Barista has provided valuable leadership and customer service experience, the role can be challenging at times. The fast-paced environment often requires managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously, including customer service, beverage preparation, inventory management, and team support. Staffing shortages and high customer volume can create stressful situations, especially during peak hours. The position also requires long periods of standing, frequent lifting, and maintaining energy throughout the shift. Additionally, balancing leadership responsibilities with daily operational tasks can be demanding, particularly when addressing customer concerns or training new employees while meeting service expectations
