Pros
There are some brilliant and hard-working scientists throughout the departments and levels of positions.
Cons
Your managers are solely responsible for yearly raises and promotions. There are no performance evaluations or reviews, so everything, including the hiring process, is based on favoritism and nepotism. Some fantastic benefits, such as the unlimited vacation policy and six months of maternity leave, are more of a sham and a burden. The unlimited vacation is monitored and limited based on who your manager is and what team you are in. The extended maternity leave is fantastic, but it is discomforting when managers pry into your personal life to see whether you will eventually use this benefit. Most people in HR or the people team are known to be very unhelpful and flat-out rude. Getting the education reimbursement is easier when there is no straightforward process, and HR needs to be more responsive to emails.
