Pros

I worked there for 22 1/2 yrs in X-ray Dept. I actually loved the work that did I. I was responsible for setting up parts and shooting parts at various angles checking for cracks and defects. Nothing really hard that I did. However there is a strong disconnect between production workers and supervisors. They run around like they are God. We were scheduled to 40 hr. Work week which was great, but then were made to work mandatory weekends for weeks at a time in a row. I worked 90-days w/o a day off before I finally got 1- day off, then back to mandatory for several more weeks. All production employees were made to work or else. If u know what I mean. If you had to be sick or off for family reasons then you were forced to use your vacation or you would be wrote up. So be prepared to work lots of overtime. In all the years I worked there, many really great engineers had quit and went elsewhere cause they would pay them enough. At this facility, they all had a certain mentality there at this plant an it seem like nothing ever changed. Floor production employees felt very under valued and disrespected. We were to be robots and perform at sometimes rediculous expectations. There attitude was if you don't like it hit the door. Certain employees were definately favored over others and could get away with bloody murder. While others were good workers constantly busy, all while others just stood around talking wasting company time. Supervisors new but if they like you nothing would be said or done. Overall. The company was a great company but at this facility in Wichita Falls it definately had some issues

Cons

Strong disconnect with hourly employees. Made to work too much overtime W/O any personal time off. Pay could be better compared to other Alcoa facilities. Only raise you get is a very small cost of living raise and insurance absorbs all that so you never really notice
