Pros

Only pros I can think of are insurance, 401k (6% match and an additional 3%), and organized orientation training.

Cons

Where do I start? Development: First would be lack of development and training opportunities for your job. Basically after orientation training it's down hill from here. The company doesn't invest in training you at all especially if you are replacing an individual who has been working for 20+ years. This not for the benefit for the employee and you can feel stagnant in your development because you feel like you haven't really changed since you got in. Culture: As for company culture I can't speak on other locations but for the Lancaster site. The culture at Lancaster is a disorganized joke. There's a lot of finger-pointing going on, people don't want to take responsibility, people delegate stuff their supposed to do on to you, and most employees only care about their job security. The majority of the workers are immature and it shows when you try to work with them. Compensation/Work-Life Balance: The compensation and work life balance don't really incentivize you working for the company. For hourly employees, you work LONG hours and have to deal with swing shifts as well. As for salaried employees, the pay is low to begin with, you're sometimes expected to work long hours or come on the weekends but you might not get comp time and you definitely won't get any compensation or add bonus for working extra hours. The company expects you to give up your time for the sake of running product out the door. No thank you. Management: Corporate management is out of touch with the local plants and put in these mandates that don't benefit anyone in any way. The local upper management is trying to better the plant but honestly it's not working. Nothing really is being fixed and the same issues from when I started are still present. Also management is really stingy that it's comical. Career Development: There really is no path for career development that is laid out for you. They don't even tell you what the next steps are for your position or any other positions for your qualifications unless you're in operations. Company direction: Looks like the company is going split(again) after mulling a deal. There's a lot of micromanaging going on from corporate it's just getting more and more annoying to actually do my job. Also four CEOs in two years. Let that sink in.

Pros

Good benefits including a strong 401k match. The company places a real emphasis on safety, which is important in a manufacturing environment. There are opportunities for professional development and advancement for employees who are motivated and willing to take on additional responsibility. Many teams have experienced employees with strong technical knowledge, and there are chances to learn a lot about large-scale manufacturing operations. Overall a stable company with structured processes and clear expectations.

Cons

The culture can feel somewhat typical of a large corporation, with a strong focus on metrics and production targets. Some strategic decisions can feel short-term focused, which can create frustration at the operational level. Communication between leadership and employees is not always consistent. Like many manufacturing companies, employees can sometimes feel more like part of the system than individuals.
