Pros

Safe and clean work environment. Safety is still a priority here even when it transitioned to Howmet. If you like to learn, you can, but you will be activating your initiative and run solo at times.

Cons

Upper middle management is factioned. Manufacturing engineering growth path is not inherently clear as goals are not defined and role responsibility is blurry. There is a goal tracking system available but not utilized to promote excellence. There is a keep your head down mentality and freshness is encouraged outwardly but not easily supported at the end of the day. Maintenance is the name of the game for the humble manufacturing engineer's day to day. In terms of product, solid designs have been worked out a long time ago. There are still discoveries to be made but probably in materials or automation rather then geometries.
