Pros
Just show up. You have a job for life if your attendance is good.
Cons
Salaried Maintenance and Operations Staff Beware. If you have a skillset that is worth something, stay away from here. High turnover which equates to very inexperienced personnel. If you are somewhat intelligent, they will milk you for all you’re worth. You will wear many hats because they can’t keep people. You get to work along side Union employees who take full advantage of the situation. Everything becomes a safety issue when they want it to, and production grinds to a halt. They are constantly complaining and you get to listen to it everyday. During difficult situations they will sacrifice the salaried staff before anyone of the Union employees. With Covid they cut salaried pay by 10% and stopped contributing to the 401K. The raises are marginal, if you’re lucky to get one for the year. Meanwhile the Union has their contract that guarantees their raises. Everyone who isn’t on the floor will tell you how great it is, but they spend no time working with the personnel and equipment. Good Luck!
