Pros

The people I've had the opportunity to work with. Most of the good ones are gone. The culture that sucked me in, but that's gone as well.

Cons

The stupidity of our "C" level executives is incomprehensible. How & why is this inexperienced CEO is still employed? It's January the biggest selling month of the first half. The month that determines not only our success for the year, but also gives us our cash flow for the first half. This is by far the worst January on record. Hands down, we've never seen worse. We have more stores then last year, yet sales are down 50%. We have at least 30-50% more headcount at our corporate office. With the increase in headcount, it's amazing how much is outsourced especially in HR & Marketing. We Have more consultants floating around this office then ever before. All the executives continue to have lunch brought in for them and their cronies daily at the companies expense. Our CEO wastes time and energy making videos of himself - making sure the camera hits him on his good side and makes his team hold up cue cards. How is this helping the business? Look at sales, it's not helping. Numbers don't lie. We all see through your fake attempts to connect with us. say hello once in a while. There have been two very key positions left open for months --CIO & CFO! How is any of this acceptable? How this private equity group & board members can support this man and his decision making is inexcusable. Shame on all of you. He was let go from his previous company and I hope Arhaus too, will see the light and stop this madness before there is nothing left. For all of us that have stuck it out here, we are wondering why there is so little focus on Sales and getting traffic through the doors? Why is marketing slashing catalogues in half? Why isn't marketing doing everything in their power to get traffic in the doors to save this company? We all wonder why the chief customer officer is making decisions on things that she has no experience in when she can't even manage her own department efficiently? Marketing is the driving force behind traffic. Traffic is the lowest it has been. How can our leaders stand by & continue to support this nonsense? It's January & people aren't even aware we're having a sale. You have ruined this business. Make sure you put that on your resume once you run the company into the ground. How our C level team, board members, private equity group and especially our chairman can stand behind the inexperienced and basically nonexistent sales leader? I hope you all realize he is the most self absorbed, lost, confused, disengaged, arrogant, superficial, joke of a leader this company has ever seen. Did I mention he is way out of his league in this role? The field rarely if ever hears from him. Every other word is "like" "pretty" "amaze balls" or "you know what I'm saying". He can barely form an intelligent sentence, let alone point out anything insightful that would help the business. If this is the best we have to offer a failing sales team then we deserve the demise we all see in the very near future. Human Resources is for the people, supports & defends the employees right? WRONG! This new and improved team, which I might add is larger than the company has ever had, is incompetent. They are sophomoric in their approach to HR. The team is snide, unapproachable, lack the understanding of basic HR principals. They have been unsuccessful in launching the new payroll system, when asked questions due to pay being incorrect you are made to feel stupid. When asked why car allowances have been taken away we've received condescending answers spoken in nasty tones. When we call to discuss pay changes that were not explained to us, HR doesn't attempt to explain they point out that the managers were told & we need to let them know if our manager is not communicating to us because that's their job. They have managed to create a culture of fear. The chief people officer lacks experience in every area of Human Resources that Arhaus was lacking. checkout Glassdoor from her previous employer. Very low employee morale, hiring buddies instead of qualified individuals, us against them mentality. Same things happened there that are happening here. why are these bad decisions acceptable ? Does anyone spend time doing any research on these people before offering them positions? Has anyone ever had a conversation with our CPO? Board Members? Private Equity? If that is what you consider the best of the best in HR then we deserve to go out of business. Our company that was once unique, amazing and sought after is now the laughing stock of the industry. You all are not only mocked within the company you attempt to run, you're now mocked industry wide. We all hope you feel the tension when you walk out of a room as everyone rolls their eyes and flip you all off. You're not respected. Even those you trust that kiss up are not in support of your poor decisions. You are not trusted or supported, but constantly mocked out. We hope you feel the disgust that we have for all of you.

Pros

Quality products and beautiful presentation

Cons

The degree to which the store management is lacking in professionalism, as well as support for their salespeople, is shocking. They regularly insult the clients, and they treat the sales staff like children, when they're working their tails off. This is a difficult job with a lot to learn and often involves juggling multiple complicated, big money transactions at the same time. Often it feels like management is not there to help sales and is short sighted and petty when dealing with wealthy clients who would likely be repeat customers. Yes, our customers are a pain at times, but you should not take them or their money for granted, or engage in shouting matches with them. Corporate really should do a better job of hiring professional store management and training them to be more supportive of both salespeople and clients and less rude across the board.
