Crow's philosophy of 'do more with less' - simply means 'hire fewer staff members while growing the rest of the organization.' That means staff carry a huge burden - often executing the tasks of several jobs. Few, and very small, pay raises. In our group, we are managed by faculty members who know nothing about what we do and are not experts in our fields. This makes for low morale, high turnover, and lots of stress. It's incredible how faculty members are not held to the same ethical and professional standards that staff are.
