Pros
Arkana is overall a good company to work for. There is an extremely generous PTO and benefits package, with little or no cost to the employee. Benefits are available immediately, with no probationary period. The pay is reasonably competitive, and there are modest profit sharing bonuses twice a year. The company culture is largely positive, with employees encouraged to give input and ideas. A great deal of emphasis is put on the company values of generosity, pull the sled and freedom to fail.
Cons
All the positives aside, Arkana is a company that is in transition. This is most visible in the renovation and expansion project that the company's main facility is currently undergoing but it goes deeper that that. Growth brings challenges, changes, and risks and while it's a largely positive environment, it's not perfect. Those that can handle fast-paced environments, are adaptable to change and can keep an open mind will will probably do better than those seeking a calm, comfortable and steady job. Advancement is possible, but the pathways to advance are still in the building stages outside of the core laboratory departments.
