Pros
Over the last 20+ years of my career, I've had the pleasure of working for several mid-sized companies. Arlo has to be one of the best! Why? 1. The People. I know it's cheesy, but everyone I've worked with is smart, dedicated, and shows up everyday as the best version of themselves, ready to work together to make Arlo the must-have brand in home security and safety. I believe the reason we all work so well together is two fold. First, our products bring safety and peace of mind to millions, and we take that mission very seriously. Second, there is a sense of urgency and need for efficiency as on one end, some of our competitors are giant corporate behemoths with large engineering and marketing teams. On the other side, slew of foreign camera manufactures trying to compete on price. Ability to thrive in this market requires hiring the best people, and trusting them to do their jobs. That is Arlo. 2. Execution. This company makes decisions quickly, and is incredibly nimble. I've seen decisions be made on Monday about a new feature we think our customers will love, by Wednesday projects are reprioritized, and Friday a team has already been pulled together to work on a POC. We can shift on a dime, and that makes Arlo and exciting place to work. 3. Fun. I'm not just talking about all the events (with beer) hosted by the Org, rather the enjoyment of working on really technically hard problems: what type of low-power sensor should we use to use to wake up the camera, how quickly can we put it back to sleep, what type of binning is best to improve SNR, to should a certain process run in the camera, cloud, or mobile app to provide the best overall UX? If you love tech, you will love working here. 4. Leadership. It's always great to see the C-suite not just focus on P&L, BoD, investors, new partnerships, etc, but joining brainstorming sessions to discuss customer pain points, in hopes of discovering a later user need we should serve. 5. Work-Life Balance. This has to be one of the main reasons Arlo is able to hire and keep such talented people. Want to work 5 days a week in the office? Fine. Only want to come in one maybe two days a week? Great, remember we have a taco card on Monday to celebrate Latin Heritage month. Don't want to come in at all? That's okay too. Have a dog you'd like to bring in the office? Let's get him a treat. Prefer to leave your Zoom camera off cause your hair is a mess? No need to grab a comb. Your daughter has soccer practice from 2 to 3? You better not miss it cause she's only 7 once. That is Arlo.
Cons
Honestly, no cons that I see.
