Pros

If you like geeking out on deeply technical topics then Arm is the place for you. We are at the forefront of developing new technologies with a massive impact. Besides that, it generally has a great work culture (friendly and supportive).

Cons

Like many tech companies we occassionally have lay offs and I've seen many good colleagues go over the years through no fault of their own. These create stress and uncertainty for everyone, and I hope they can be minimized.

It’s fantastic to hear such thoughtful reflections from someone with a long history at Arm – thank you for your continued contributions and for helping to shape the culture that so many value. We agree that being at the cutting edge of technology is both exciting and demanding, and we’re proud of the collaborative, supportive environment that makes that possible. While organisational changes are sometimes necessary, we recognise the impact they can have and always strive to handle them with care and transparency. Your point about balancing speed with cultural integrity is well taken – it’s something we’re mindful of as we grow and evolve.

Pros

Work-Life Balance: Widely praised for flexible hybrid schedules and a supportive, low-pressure environment. Standout Perks: Highly rated for its 4-week paid sabbatical program and quarterly "Days of Care" company-wide days off. Collaborative Culture: Features a friendly, ego-free workplace that strongly emphasizes a "we, not I" team mentality. Strong Benefits: Offers excellent overall compensation, including valuable stock options (RSUs) and comprehensive healthcare.

Cons

Pace of Work: Some employees note that projects and decision-making can move slowly due to the relaxed culture.
