Pros
The People! Getting to work with like minded, hard working individuals on multiple teams allows me to be successful with small and large projects. Operations is not sales role, but we build tools and systems for the sales organization so seeing them successfully growing the company is a huge win. Benefits and Work Life Balance - Flexibilty within each department varies, but my ability to work from home and in office allows me to manage my work and home schedules to be there for my family. Benefits keep us covered with good insurance and security and company adds perks of lunches/activities/gym/etc. for even more benefits. This has been a dream job for me coming from other operational roles where I was micromanaged and unable to make a real impact. This company welcomes cross department knowledge sharing and help connecting systems and processes to make the company more successful. Arrive is still maturing at 10 years old, but the startup days are behind us and processes, policies, and goals all transition for sustainability as the market shifts and operational targets are met.
Cons
Workload can change quickly from managable to overloaded, but is expected in an our industry where things change quickly. We are a sales company, so priority is put into improving sales processes and systems. Back office and support systems can lag behind with regards to technology improvements and budgets. Most operational teams are relatively flat, so vertical advancement opportunities (promotions) are earned and not given out freely. Individuals need to determine if you are chasing a title or money and choose your career and employeer accordingly. Most new sales reps are new to the industry and new to the work force and are not used to the expectations of being a freight broker. You get out what you put in, so be prepared to put in the effort if you want to make a 6 figure income.
