Pros
This is for the Princeton location, though I'm sure most of this applies to other locations. I've absolutely loved my time here. It's the perfect balance. There is a very strong curriculum, which genuinely helps children learn. The questions are thought provoking, and are great applications of the lessons. The material for young children is excellent. (A notable part of the lesson is group reading through math comics, where the students get to follow the wacky antics of the very clever math beasts. ) The lesson plans are already created, with student slides and teacher slides. This is especially appreciated for the more advanced math courses, where thorough solutions are provided. The homework is mostly auto-graded online (prep time mentioned has to do with familiarizing yourself with the material for the day.) The language arts classes are above and beyond in content. They are less focused on grammar and spelling, and more focused on getting students excited about literature and helping them learn how to think logically and convey their ideas effectively. The balance comes from the staff. While there is a massive amount of high quality material, with detailed teacher information, there is minimal micromanagement. The staff here trusts teachers to make the material fit the needs of their class. The work outside of the classroom is minimal. It's the best of both worlds. Students are often excited to be here, since the material is enrichment. And I often find myself learning things in the lessons I'm teaching as well. The pay and benefits is also fantastic for part time. ($100 per class, and $30/hr for things like grading (not HW, but there are a couple exams/papers depending on the class). There's also a 401k with some amount of matching. There is also paid sick leave, and flexibility provided through subs. 10/10
Cons
None, I'm genuinely unsure why they aren't constantly flooded with teacher applications. The only negative might be that the teaching opportunities are mainly part time, but from what I understand, more full time positions might become a possibility. They do also have high standards for who they hire, but the trade off is the nicer pay and the higher trust to adjust your own lessons as needed.
