Pros
It’s very disheartening to read that someone had such a bad experience here but I think it comes down to preference. One man’s 1 is another man’s 5. Some things that I love about this job are certainly not for everyone. I don't begrudge anyone for not feeling like a good fit (in fact that saddens me), but I want my review here because the poor review isn't universal. Others of us keep showing up for a reason, and I think that reason is something much bigger than a just paycheck or a conventional corporate structure. Yes, it’s a smaller company with very little red tape. The positions here are for creative individuals who excel when given freedom. For those who haven’t had to deal with the stifling nature of many workplaces, it might be hard to see the value in this level of freedom and responsibility. For others it’s a breath of fresh air and an outlet for creativity that might previously have been reserved for non-work ventures. It’s also not uncommon to feel overwhelmed here. Deadlines are real, critiques are straight forward. When you’re starting out it can feel like marketing boot camp, but on the other side of that growth curve you’re stronger and better for it. The work I do now is so vastly different than what I produced two years ago, and it didn’t come as the result of training. It came as the result of real-life experience and an incredible team that held me to high standards. Like anything worth doing, it may not come naturally or be perfect at first, but that’s exactly what makes it engaging down the line. It’s what keeps all of us driven and passionate about what we do. I’m sincerely sorry for anyone who didn’t make it to that stage. Those of us who enjoy working here have each carved our own place in the company and found ways of exploring our talents, challenging ourselves, and producing results that make us incredibly proud. Bottom line, it’s a great place for those who are serious about learning all aspects of marketing and web design. You see the full spectrum here and can be involved first hand in any area you choose. If you’re new to the work force and/or only slightly interested in the field, the positions here may not have value to you. Salary is based on experience and performance. I’ve been given raises based on my performance, without ever asking. Benefits are also offered, but do not start until after the initial trial period. Pretty standard if you ask me
