Pros

A smaller company that allows you to have your finger on their business. Things you do you are responsible for & you can really see your vision of your project from start to finish. No one is going to hold your hand. If you want something done you have to do it yourself. If you find that environment stimulating like me, this is a big pro.

Cons

There are two groups of people at Ascend. Those who take pride in their work & are therefore completely overworked & underpaid by this company. They are the ones moving the company forward. They are generally middle & upper management. The other are those that phone it in, don't care about their projects, and know that they can rely on the other group to fix their mistakes which are caused by their inability to care sufficiently about their project. Communication between departments is truly terrible.

Pros

Decent benefits Hybrid WFH schedule Some really great direct managers

Cons

Chaotic and disorganized, with old outdated backend systems. Work performance and output not generally recognized: people who do very little work are often paid the same, or more than people who do double or triple the workload, and are allowed to continue with the company while other shoulder the load. Once you are on a team or part of a BU - good luck making a move to another team or BU. The place is a revolving door for a lot of positions, but once you learn a skillset they are unlikely to allow a move. The sales team runs this place, so be prepared to be bullied constantly by them, even when you are told to gatekeep.
