Many people have been declined raises for years now. The upper management doesn't care about the employees who actually do the work. Too many layoffs. No room at all for growth. You're pretty much going to stay exactly where you are. Increasing amounts of outsourcing. Lack of transparency from upper management. The work/life balance can be ok, but the expectation is that you work evenings and weekends, even vacations. It's easy to wear out quickly.
