Pros

Good starting benefits and vacation (3 weeks)

Cons

If you want a fun work opportunity with flex time, growth, and freedom to excel...continue your search. You will not get that here at Aspen. No flex time No availability to work from home No snow days (use vacation day if you didn't make it in with 2+ feet of snow...) Forget day appointments No perks in terms of that. Mandatory work hours makes it hard to enjoy coming to the office. 2 years at Aspen and not one growth opportunity so don't expect that. With micro managers don't expect to excel and grow on a personal career level. Company moral is almost non existent and I feel bad for HR as they are trying to increase it, however, I feel most employees could care less about it.

I am sorry that you felt there was no growth opportunity in your role. We support career advancement through internal Career Development Workshops as well as outside resources, such as talks from career growth experts. We encourage all employees to take advantage of these resources and to discuss career goals with their managers to help identify opportunity for development. We continue to see a strong sense of employee pride displayed at many employee-led events, such as holiday parties, social outings and organized sporting events. We do recognize that as a modern software company there is a need to remain flexible and be understanding of our employee's personal commitments. This is why we continue to explore ways to implement practices that allow employees to comfortably tend to both personal and professional responsibilities.

Pros

Good products with large customer base. Product development is innovative and willing to work directly with customers. Base pay for sales reps is improving after the acquisition by Emerson Electric. The Emerson Electric acquisition is received positively by the customers. Internal training is good and readily available. Collaboration between the various departments is excellent.

Cons

New management is focused on running the sales organization by spreadsheet metrics vs. obtaining and improving customer relationships. Product pricing and sales approval processes are very complex. Customers are seen as captives and when they request reasonable changes to their contract, they are often denied if there is not significant revenue growth (results in bad relationships). Sales management is spending more time in internal meetings than with customers and their reps.
